On December 8, China's first commercial distributed ammonia hydrogen station completed successful trial production in Nanning. Using advanced technology, the station achieves leading hydrogen production efficiency, substantially lowering on-site hydrogen costs.

Hydrogen Station

After the integrated station is put into operation, it can produce 500 kilograms of 99.999% high-purity hydrogen daily, making it the largest in its category. It can meet the hydrogen demand for over 40 hydrogen fuel vehicles. Compared to previous hydrogen usage methods in Guangxi, the cost has decreased by 60%, offering a new solution to address the transportation and storage challenges facing the development of China's hydrogen energy industry.

Ammonia decomposition is a hydrogen production method that involves breaking down ammonia into nitrogen and hydrogen using a catalyst. This process, which utilizes ammonia as a hydrogen storage medium, is advantageous due to its easy and cost-effective storage and transportation. Importantly, ammonia decomposition for hydrogen production is environmentally friendly as it does not emit carbon dioxide.

China, a global leader in synthetic ammonia production and consumption, has a well-established industry. In March 2022, the government recognized the importance of ammonia as a hydrogen storage carrier, introducing the "ammonia-hydrogen storage" demonstration as a key focus in the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of New Energy Storage."
