Recently, a 25m³/h high-flow-rate, low-flash liquid hydrogen transfer pump independently developed by a major domestic equipment manufacturing company successfully completed a 4-hour continuous liquid hydrogen operation test at an authoritative research institution. In the extremely low temperature environment of -253℃ liquid hydrogen, all performance indicators of the pump exceeded design requirements, demonstrating stable and reliable operation. It successfully passed the assessment of a national key project, becoming the first submersible liquid hydrogen transfer pump in China to pass actual liquid hydrogen testing. This test was witnessed by experts from authoritative research institutions and third-party testing agencies.

 

Liquid hydrogen transfer at the extreme low temperature of -253℃ faces common industry challenges such as easy vaporization of the medium, difficulty in sealing, and material embrittlement. This company overcame the challenges of thermal management and safety control during the liquid hydrogen transfer process through in-depth research on key technologies of liquid hydrogen storage and transportation equipment. By employing an integrated 3D dynamic simulation design of the inducer-impeller system, selecting special cryogenic alloy materials, and combining multiple insulation technologies, the company successfully suppressed thermal stress deformation and cavitation, achieving long-term, zero-leakage, and zero-failure operation of the liquid hydrogen pump under ultra-low temperature and high-speed conditions.

 

With a flow rate exceeding 25 m³/h, this pump is currently the largest publicly verified liquid hydrogen transport equipment in China. Its overall technology has reached a leading level domestically, effectively solving engineering challenges such as extremely low temperatures, easy vaporization, and easy leakage during liquid hydrogen transport. It can be widely used in various scenarios including hydrogen liquefaction plants, liquid hydrogen tanker filling, and ship loading and unloading.

 

Currently, the company has formed a complete chain capability from core equipment development to scenario-based solutions. It has built the region's first liquid hydrogen key equipment manufacturing base, successfully breaking through key liquid hydrogen technologies. Key equipment such as liquid hydrogen valves, liquid hydrogen storage tanks, diaphragm compressors, and liquid-driven compressors have achieved market application. The company has completed the development and reserve of process packages and core liquid hydrogen equipment covering all aspects of liquefaction, storage, and transportation.
