The first tube-type solid oxide fuel cell test system in China was successfully developed

In March, the tubular solid oxide fuel cell test system independently developed by the Technology R&D Center successfully passed the technical index assessment. This system is the first test system in China adapted to tubular high-temperature solid oxide fuel cells.

Solid oxide fuel cells directly convert the chemical energy of fuels such as hydrogen or natural gas into electrical energy through high-temperature (600 to 1000 degrees Celsius) electrochemical reactions. The power generation efficiency is 10% to 15% higher than traditional fossil energy power generation, making it one of the most efficient power generation technologies in the world.

Due to its tubular structure, tubular fuel cells have better sealing and higher pressure resistance than traditional flat-plate fuel cells, and can be used in gas power plants, natural gas power generation charging stations, etc., broadening the application scenarios of fuel cells. The research and development of this test system has accelerated the pace of tubular fuel cells from the laboratory to the application of results, and has also continued to make greater contributions to building a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system.
