Release time:

2024-04-12

On April 7, 2024, the railway hydrogenation scientific research demonstration station fully completed the hydrogenation commissioning of two hydrogen energy-powered locomotives, the cumulative amount of hydrogen injected reached 845 kilograms, indicating that China’s hydrogen energy power equipment has the ability to be put into operation in the heavy-haul railway market.

This project is located at Haileshao South Station in Yijinhuoluo Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia. It is an important part of the 2021 key scientific and technological research project "Research and Demonstration of Key Technology Equipment for Hydrogen Energy Application in Heavy-haul Railways". It is the first heavy-haul railway hydrogenation station in China.

After the project is put into operation, the hydrogenation capacity will be 500kg/day, the hydrogen storage capacity will be 800kg, and the maximum hydrogenation flow will reach 7.2kg/minute, reaching the international leading level. It provides demonstration and guidance for the energy conservation and emission reduction of the railway transportation sector of the National Energy Group and the realization of the "double carbon" goal.
